Product Description

A Snack-Size Minnow with a Tail That Never Quits

One order of Small Fries, please! The Small Fry 2" is a snack-size minnow bait for crappie and panfish, and its flexible forked tail refuses to take a break. It keeps moving on the retrieve, during the fall, and even when the bait is just hanging around under a bobber. The retrieve can stop. The tail does not.

Best For

  • Crappie and other panfish
  • Jigging around cover
  • Suspending under a bobber

Use When

Reach for the Small Fry when fish are chasing tiny forage, you want a simple jig presentation, or you’re fishing beneath a bobber.

How to Rig the Small Fry

  • Jighead: Work it around cover with small hops and pauses.
  • Under a bobber: Suspend it at the depth where crappie and other panfish are feeding.

Why It Works

  • 2-inch baitfish profile: Matches the compact size of the forage panfish love to chase.
  • Flexible forked tail: Keeps moving during the retrieve, on the fall, and while the bait pauses.
  • Easy panfish presentation: Simple to jig or suspend under a bobber.

A Note from Finn: Why I Chose This Mold

This one wasn’t hard. Minnow-shaped baits are hands down fish catchers, so the shape was never really in question. I did want something a little more interesting than a single tail, though, so I opted for a mold with a forked tail. To me that adds a bit more twitch, and on a bait this small, that extra movement makes a difference.
