Fishing Is For Everyone.
Fintastic Plastics is a family-owned soft plastic fishing bait business based in Washington State’s Skagit Valley. We’re Chaney and Finn, two anglers making small-batch baits and sharing beginner-friendly guidance because Fishing Is For Everyone.
Two Different Paths into Fishing
We came to fishing from different places. Chaney grew up with family who passed down their love of the water and taught the ropes early on, while Finn learned largely alone, figuring out techniques through trial, error, and determination. Those two paths taught us something important: everyone's journey into fishing looks different, and no one should feel like they don't belong on the water.
After living in a few corners of the country, we've planted roots in the beautiful Skagit Valley of Washington State. It's an angler's dream: rivers and streams, lakes and ponds, and the saltwater of the Puget Sound all within reach. Whether we're out in our fishing kayaks catching panfish, trout, or bass, or aboard our Hewescraft Ocean Pro hunting lingcod and halibut in the Sound, we love it all.
Fishing Is For Everyone
But the more we fished, the more we noticed something: the sport and its marketing seemed to assume you were male and had a dad or grandad who taught you everything. It felt like a club with an unspoken membership requirement. We created Fintastic Plastics to challenge that.
We make fishing lures for everyone and want everyone to enjoy fishing. We want members of the LGBTQ+ community, women, minorities, single parents, and kids to look at our brand and feel seen, to know there's a company that made something fun and interesting just for them.
Small-Batch Baits Made in Washington
We injection-mold our baits in small batches in our own workshop here in Washington State. We hunt for the right mold instead of settling for the first one, and we fish everything we make before it earns a spot in the lineup. You can take a look inside the workshop if you're curious how it all comes together.
We want good baits to make it to the water. That’s why we set aside usable extras and baits with minor cosmetic quirks for our Scratch and Dent Packs. Each mix is chosen with care, giving anglers a chance to try something unexpected while helping us reduce waste in the shop.
Building Confidence, One Cast at a Time
We also believe knowledge should be shared, not gatekept. That's why we built our Building Confidence library, a growing collection of guides covering everything from tying knots and rigging lures to the stuff people assume you already know, like what all that information printed on a rod actually means. If you're just getting started, it's the best place to begin.
Our goal is simple but ambitious: to build a strong, welcoming community of anglers here in Western Washington and far beyond. Through inclusive, colorful lures, honest education, and a whole lot of heart, we're working to make one thing clear: Fishing Is For Everyone.
