Product Description
A Large-Profile Worm with Subtle Kicker-Tail Action
The Kickin’ Finesse Worm 9" pairs a large bass profile with the subtle flutter of a kicker-style tail. Built for slow presentations in clear water and pressured conditions, this floating soft plastic gives you plenty of presence without relying on loud, aggressive action. The tail flutters on the fall and through the retrieve, just enough movement to look alive. Reach for this 9-inch worm when you want a bigger target for big bass while keeping the presentation slow and subtle.
Photo comparison: Some photos show the 5.5", 7", and 9" Kickin’ Finesse Worms for size comparison. This listing is for the 9" size only.
Looking for another size? Try the smaller 5.5" Kickin’ Finesse Worm or 7" Kickin’ Finesse Worm.
Best For
- Targeting big bass with a large-profile worm
- Slow Texas rigs in clear to lightly stained water
- Carolina rigs and shaky heads suited to the 9-inch bait
Use When
Reach for the Kickin’ Finesse Worm 9" when you want a larger profile but fish still call for a slow, subtle presentation. It’s a good option for pressured or finicky bass, clear water, and post-front conditions when louder baits aren’t getting attention.
How to Rig the Kickin' Finesse Worm 9"
- Texas rig: 4/0 EWG hook with a 1/4 oz bullet weight. A starting setup for targeting big bass with a large-profile worm.
- Carolina rig: Match the hook to the 9-inch worm and work it slowly along the bottom.
- Shaky head: Choose a head and hook that fit the 9-inch bait, letting the floating tails lift while the nose stays down.
Why It Works
- Kicker-style tail: Subtle flutter on the fall and retrieve that looks alive without spooking cautious fish.
- Floating plastic: Keeps the tails lifted and moving even when the worm is resting.
- 9-inch profile: Offers a larger target for big bass while retaining subtle tail action.
- Works on multiple rigs: Texas rig, Carolina rig, and suitably sized shaky heads.

A Note from Finn: Why I Chose This Mold
The tails offer a little bit of action even while the worm is sitting still, and because I used a floating plastic the tail stays upright. These are great shaky head worms and an excellent swimming worm too. If you like fishing pintail worms, you can remove the kicker tails and you’ve got one of those. I like baits that give you a few options, and these do exactly that.
