Some baits come out a little lighter or darker than we hoped. Some have a tiny cosmetic blemish. Others are perfectly good extras that don’t quite fill a regular pack. We think those baits deserve a chance to make it to the water, not go to waste.

Our Bass Scratch and Dent Pack brings them together in a bulk-size bag of assorted soft plastics at a discounted price. It’s a way to get more fishing out of good baits and have a little fun trying something you might not have picked for yourself.

From Our Baking Trays to Your Tackle Bag

In the shop, I set these baits aside on commercial baking trays as I work. These trays allow the baits to be stored straight as well as covered while waiting for a home.  They are not per-packaged and getting crumpled.  A run might leave us with a few perfect extras after other baits are culled, a color might turn out lighter or darker than intended, or a bait might have a few micro bubbles right at the tip of its tail. They may not meet our appearance standard for a regular pack, but they still have fishing to do.

These are baits we’d confidently fish ourselves. Any imperfections are minor and cosmetic only, with no defects that would keep the bait from being fished as intended. Any bait with a bubble bigger than the head of a pen is culled and never goes into any of our products.

How I Choose Your Mix

When you order a pack, I look at the other items in your order and take time to consider what you might enjoy. A bulk-size bag gives me room to include familiar styles in a different color or size, along with something new to explore.

If your order is full of swimbaits, for example, I might choose a few similar baits, then add worms, creature baits, or craws to give you something different to try. It’s a surprise mix, but it isn’t packed without thought.

• Colors that turned out lighter or darker than intended.
• Baits with minor cosmetic blemishes, including tiny tail-tip microbubbles.
• Dual-color laminates with the colors flipped from the intended placement.
• New colors and bait designs we’re testing.

The mix may include craws, creatures, worms, curly-tail grubs, paddle tails, flukes, and more. Contents depend on what’s on our trays, so specific styles, colors, and sizes aren’t guaranteed.

Best for: Bass anglers who enjoy a surprise, appreciate good value, and want to try baits they might not have chosen themselves. Less waste in the shop, more possibilities on the water.
