Product Description

A Flat-Bottom Goby Bait Built to Scoot

Scoot over, stiff, low-action baits. The Scooter Goby 3.5" is a flat-bottomed soft plastic goby bait built to wiggle. It scoots across rocky or hard bottom like a goby or sculpin searching for a meal, while the thin spine and tail create action with even the slightest movement.

Best For

  • Smallmouth bass and other species feeding close to the bottom
  • Freshwater or saltwater fishing
  • Rocky or hard-bottom areas where fish are feeding on gobies and sculpins

Use When

Reach for the Scooter Goby when you need a natural goby or sculpin profile and a subtle bottom presentation. Keep it just above the bottom or move it along the rocks with small hops and pauses.

How to Rig the Scooter Goby

  • Drop shot: Keep the bait just above the bottom for a subtle, natural presentation.
  • Jighead: Move it along the bottom with a steady retrieve, small hops, and pauses.

Why It Works

  • Flat bottom: Helps the bait scoot naturally along the bottom like a foraging goby.
  • Thin spine and tail: Create lively action with subtle rod movements.
  • 3.5-inch profile: Offers a realistic goby silhouette for bottom-oriented presentations.
  • Fresh or salt water: Ready for wherever bottom-feeding fish are holding.

A Note from Finn: Why I Chose This Mold

Both gobies and sculpins live in fresh and salt water, and they’re natural forage wherever fish feed near the bottom. I chose this mold because the tail action is a lot for a bait this size, and the meaty head gives you great hook seating. They’re fun to imitate, too. You can scoot the bait along the bottom and mix in small hops to bring it to life.
